The current field of  micro and nano systems experiences hurdles when developing nanoscopic elements that experience unwanted Casimir-Lifshitz forces in between them. The article describes current developments towards inducing repulsive forces to counterbalance Casimir forces. To this end our article on Tunable critical Casimir forces counteract Casimir–Lifshitz attraction is being explained.
