As a first step into the Ambassador Program of OPTICA Falko Schmidt got invited to take part in the Level Up Leadership workshop In Washington D.C. for early career researchers in optics and photonics. The workshop is designed to equip leaders-of-tomorrow with the right tools and insights to become effective mentors and teachers for the next generation of students.
Lead by Hannah Roberts the 4-day program involved topics like stress and time management, identifying personality types, and self-reflections. 

This was also the first time that the newly elected Ambassador class of 2023 got together and had the chance to discuss each others missions for this year and how to start collaborating with each other.
