Falko Schmidt has been selected to attain the  prestigious "Humboldt meets Leibniz" networking event on all optics related topics from the 12th June till 15th June 2022 at Herrenhausen Palace in Hannover, Germany. 

According to the event's motto, "Connecting Talents Across Generations", 14 Humboldt Award winners with a research focus in optics and photonics will answer questions from around 150 selected PhD students and postdocs. In addition to receiving impulses for their career planning, the young talents can also present and discuss their research projects in optics and photonics. 

In preparation for the event Falko Schmidt said: "This is a unique opportunity for me to not only connect with peers in my field and discuss the state-of-the-art but enable me to broaden my mind on various scientific disciplines addressing real-life problems. I believe that this networking event will leave me with many new insights also on issues inside the scientific community, such as open science practices and gender inequality."
